A woman documented a real investigative effort after finding the driver responsible for hitting her friend’s car through a broken side mirror.
In a video posted on TikTok, the content creator said that someone had hit her friend’s car on Halloween night. “My friend’s car was hit, so we’re going to find the person who did it,” she said at the beginning of the clip.
After showing her friend’s car, which was completely damaged, the group decided to start investigating the debris next to the vehicle. That’s when they found a broken side mirror.
“The mirror came off. Oh yes, we’re going to find them,” said one of the women in the group. Then, the video shows them searching for a car missing a mirror. And, surprisingly, they found one.
When they approached a damaged Toyota Corolla parked in the same lot where the friend’s car had been hit, they placed the mirror on it — and it fit perfectly. “Oh, we found it,” said the content creator.
Next, the group wrote down the car’s license plate and called the police. In a follow-up video, she revealed that the accident had been caused by the driver speeding. They also discovered that her friend’s car was not the only one hit that night.
The driver spoke with the police, and both parties were instructed to contact their insurance companies to handle the damages. The video has already received over 900,000 views and hundreds of comments from users impressed by the group’s investigative approach.
“Not you using the mirror like it’s a glass slipper,” joked one TikTok user. “No, this was serious detective work. Congratulations to all!” said another. “As a victim of multiple hit-and-runs, I fully support this message,” commented a third.
